Its breadth reflected the awards program\u2019s ambition to encourage better products, stronger services and continuous improvement across Somalia\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n<p>Organized through the National Quality Institute of the Somali Bureau of Standards (SoBS), the awards recognize organizations demonstrating commitment to quality, efficiency, innovation and outstanding performance. Coca-Cola<\/strong>, representing a cross-section of Somalia\u2019s business and industrial community.<\/p>\n<p>Their recognition brought attention to the contribution of local enterprise to the country\u2019s quality agenda and the importance of maintaining standards as Somali businesses expand their products, services and market reach.<\/p>\n<p>Government participation included Somalia\u2019s Minister of Trade and Industry, Jamal Maxamed Hassan, and Deputy Minister of Interior, Local Governments and Reconciliation, Cabdirisaaq Malaaq Hussein. Both addressed the winners\u2019 announcement evening.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Ilyaas Ali Hassan, Somalia\u2019s ambassador to Tanzania and the East African Community, also spoke at the ceremony, adding a regional diplomatic presence to the gathering.<\/p>\n<p>Among the quality-sector representatives addressing the event were Ahmed Hassan Maxamed Balack, Deputy Director of the National Institute, a SoBS representative and EAC focal point, and Guleed Maxamed Rashiid, Secretary General of the Somali Bureau of Standards.<\/p>\n<p>The participation of national and regional representatives gave the ceremony significance beyond the presentation of awards. The East African Community\u2019s regional quality awards framework provides a pathway for national winners to be nominated through their standards bodies, offering Somali organizations an opportunity
